Another title to my portfolio

It’s been a long time between blog entries; some would say that’s good. My latest publishing effort is Bob – The Short Life of Robert John Mutton. With the assistance of my brother Graham Himmelhoch-Mutton and other family members, this new title is a tribute to our older brother. Bob died in 1977, aged only 30.

The idea of the book was conceived in 2022, when Bob would have turned 75. Unfortunately, it was also the 45th anniversary of his passing, so that year would have been appropriate for publication. However, completion was delayed, and it didn’t ‘go to print’ until 14 March 2023. Books such as this are intended only for family and friends who may remember Bob from all those years ago.

On a happier note, I continue to write philatelic articles for Australian Stamps Professional magazine. For the 100th edition – out in March 2023 – I managed to have two articles published. My work, a labour of love as much as anything, is repaid with a quarter-page display advert in each edition. The ads promote my books Australian Commemorative Postage Stamps 1879-1980 and The Postage Stamps of Aden 1937-1968. The continued trickle of sales is satisfying though it’s as well I don’t rely on royalties for my income.
